Overview
This policy applies to all purchases of the Kindle Mate Pro Plan processed via Paddle, including monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, and one-time lifetime purchases. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined herein, which are aligned with Paddle’s Invoiced Consumer Terms (available at https://www.paddle.com/legal/invoiced-consumer-terms). In the event of a conflict between this policy and Paddle’s terms or applicable mandatory consumer protection laws, Paddle’s terms and such laws shall prevail.
Refund Eligibility
Consistent with Paddle’s consumer refund requirements:
You may request a refund for any purchase of the Kindle Mate Pro Plan within 14 calendar days of the payment date (the "cooling-off period"), regardless of the purchase type (monthly subscription, annual subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase).
For digital services where you have explicitly requested and received access to the Kindle Mate Pro Plan prior to the end of the 14-day cooling-off period, your right to a full refund under the cooling-off period remains intact, unless otherwise restricted by mandatory applicable law.
Subscription renewals are treated as separate purchases: the 14-day cooling-off period applies to each renewal payment date independently.
Refund Amount
All eligible refund requests submitted within the 14-day cooling-off period will be processed as a full refund of the total amount paid at the time of purchase, including any applicable taxes (consistent with Paddle’s tax refund handling under its Invoiced Consumer Terms). No pro rata deductions will be applied for partial use of the service during the cooling-off period, except as required by mandatory law.
Subscription Cancellation
Cancellation of a subscription does not automatically trigger a refund. Refunds are processed solely in accordance with the eligibility terms above.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Paddle account dashboard. Cancellation will take effect immediately upon processing by Paddle, and no further charges will be incurred for future billing cycles. For clarity: canceling a subscription removes future billing obligations but does not initiate a refund unless you separately submit a valid refund request within the applicable cooling-off period.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be credited back to your original payment method within 3–10 business days from the date of approval, as per Paddle’s standard processing timelines. Actual posting time may vary based on your bank or payment provider’s policies.
Kindle Mate has no control over third-party processing timelines (Paddle, banks, or payment providers) and will cooperate fully to facilitate timely refund disbursement.
How to Request a Refund
To submit a refund request, you may use either of the following methods (both aligned with Paddle’s process):
Submit a refund request directly through your Paddle transaction history or subscription management page (preferred for faster processing); or
Send an email to support@kmate.io with the following mandatory information:
Your unique Paddle Transaction ID (found in your purchase confirmation email or Paddle account)
The email address associated with your Kindle Mate and Paddle purchase
A clear statement that you are requesting a refund under the 14-day cooling-off period
Kindle Mate will review and process all valid refund requests within 3 business days of receipt. Approved requests will be initiated through Paddle’s official refund system to ensure compliance with Paddle’s terms.
Exceptions (Consistent with Paddle’s Permissible Restrictions)
Refund requests may be declined only in the following circumstances, as allowed under Paddle’s Invoiced Consumer Terms and mandatory applicable law:
Requests submitted after the 14-day cooling-off period (unless mandatory law requires a longer period);
Fraudulent transactions, including but not limited to unauthorized purchases, duplicate refund requests for the same transaction, or abuse of the refund policy;
Violations of Paddle’s Invoiced Consumer Terms or Kindle Mate’s Terms of Service that directly relate to the purchase in question (e.g., using the service for illegal activities).
No additional exceptions or qualifiers apply beyond those explicitly stated herein and those permitted under Paddle’s terms.
